DESCRIPTION:Shambhala Music Festival is an annual electronic music festival held during the last week of July at the Salmo River Ranch\, a 500-acre farm\, in the West Kootenay mountains near Nelson\, British Columbia. \nShambhala Music Festival was born from a vision as grassroots as it gets. On a sunny Labour Day weekend back in 1998\, some 500 people gathered at the Salmo River Ranch for a party that showcased local art and music. From those early\, heady days\, Shambhala grew with enthusiasm by word of mouth\, quickly becoming a staple event for the West Coast underground electronic music scene.

Organized by Canada’s Racial Equity Screen Office (RESO) in association with Gold House\, the event is designed to foster business and creative ties between the content industries in Canada and East Asia.

This course offers a unique\, engaging and solutions-based training session offering attendees the information and inspiration to live and work in a more sustainable way. \nUpon successful completion of the course\, attendees will: \n\nunderstand how to act to reduce their impact within the three stages of production\nrecognize the impact that production has on the environment\nhave knowledge of the tools and techniques to lessen this impact and how to collect and report data\n\nTaking the Sustainable Production Training course is free and recommended to everyone in the motion picture industry. In this 2-hour training\, crew will learn how to adopt and implement more environmentally sustainable practices in the three stages of production.

It is a unique community-based celebration internationally renowned for presenting the finest traditional and contemporary folk and roots music from around the world. Now in its 47th year\, the Festival continues to be one of the city’s most beloved\, enjoyed\, and respected events. Through the years\, the Festival has won “Best Local Music Festival” by readers of the Georgia Straight and the Westender.
