DESCRIPTION:International South Asian Film Festival Canada (iSAFF) celebrates stories usually not represented by mainstream cinema or contemporary Bollywood film formulas. Features\, shorts\, episodics\, music videos and documentaries\, all chosen to engage\, educate and inspire audiences by promoting free expression\, cross-cultural interactions and understanding\, and combating intolerance and stereotypes. \niSAFF originated in 2008 to “bridge the gap” between South Asian talent and mainstream audiences by connecting directors\, actors\, producers\, community organizations\, corporate brands and South Asian cinephiles. \nThis year’s theme is CROSSROADS’ – to celebrate South Asian cinema and culture as a hub and a place where many roads intersect. As South Asian cinema and artists continue their path-breaking growth\, iSAFF is unlocking new and unique opportunities to find intersections between our cinematic stories and those from other backgrounds and industries. \nFeaturing 19 world premieres\, eight North American premieres\, and 23 Canadian premieres\, the festival will open with Lakshmipriya Devi’s debut feature BOONG\, which had its world premiere at TIFF.

Suitable for anyone looking to enhance their animation skills and creativity. \nAlso\, there is a career fair for job seekers to connect one-on-one with top recruiters in the CG industry and explore exciting new opportunities. Registration is free and open to all. \nOn the second day of event\, Lauren Airriess continues to take the participants on an in-depth exploration of the creative process behind choosing and developing a unique style in animation. Lauren will delve into the various components that contribute to an animation’s aesthetic\, including visual design\, colour schemes\, lighting\, shape language and texture inspiration. \n
