Clean Energy Committee

The Clean Energy committee was born out of the need to create resources and provide guidance for clean energy initiatives in the motion picture industry. Founded in 2020, the Committee supports implementation of clean energy sources to reduce the motion picture industry’s consumption of fossil fuels and enhance B.C.’s position as the greenest production centre in the world.

The motion picture industry is reducing emissions in alignment with the province’s CleanBC plan, and seeking new partnerships to seize clean (renewable) energy opportunities that strive to eliminate unnecessary carbon emissions.

Discover the Clean Energy Toolkit, which supports the implementation of clean energy sources to reduce the motion picture industry’s consumption of fossil fuels.

The Power Tie-ins program delivered by Creative BC for Reel Green™’s Clean Energy Committee. The Committee is investing up to $2,500 in electric grid tie-in projects to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in high volume filming areas.

The Carbon Calculator is a tool that helps the film industry measure its carbon footprint to better understand the impact of film production. Reel Green™ offers free training courses on carbon calculation for motion picture industry members.
