The City of Vancouver has added two new clean energy film kiosks in the 500 block of Homer Street, increasing access to grid power for productions filming downtown.
Each kiosk provides 200 A, 3‑phase power, strengthening the city’s film production clean power network and supporting ongoing efforts to reduce generator use on sets.
The two Homer Street kiosks build on existing city and partner grid tie‑ins located at the Vancouver Art Gallery, False Creek and The Crescent in Shaughnessy.
Together, these access points provide productions with increased flexibility to access clean power across a range of neighbourhoods and filming scenarios. Productions sourcing 50% or more of their on-location power from clean energy sources may qualify for a permit fee reduction through the City’s Clean Energy Incentive.
Clean energy power sources include:
- Battery systems
- Private property building tie‑ins
- City of Vancouver film power kiosks
