Netflix, a proud partner of Reel Green™, recently released a video on how their productions are lowering their carbon output on set.  

The TV and Film industry relies on fossil fuels to power our cars, trucks and diesel generators, but with film crew being ready to go-green, we can further advance our economy, to a low-carbon economy. 

Many Netflix productions, including The Union (London), Unfrosted (Los Angeles), Irish Wish (Ireland) and Virgin River (Vancouver), have used and are continuing to use a variety of green technology, including electric batteries, hybrid batteries, grid electricity, hydrogen power, and electric vehicles. 

The video features a few crew members from the local TV Series Production, Virgin River, and the steps they’re taking to be greener on set, and the positive feedback they’re getting from the communities! Ian Hay, the Co-Executive Producer of Virgin River, mentions that they went their whole shoot for season five without using diesel to power their set. Way to go team!
