What was the intention behind starting Jexcar Sustainability Rentals?
Jexcar Sustainability Rentals was born from our 29 years of experience building trailers for the film industry — and from growing demand as customers began asking specifically for our trailers. We saw an opportunity to create our own fleet, but with a clear purpose: to lead the way in sustainability. Our solar-powered trailers prove that even in B.C., we can put the environment first without compromising comfort or convenience. We’re proud to offer trailers that make life easier for actors and transport teams, while supporting a greener future for film production.
How are you working in the B.C. motion picture industry to make it more sustainable?

What is a recent achievement or green win for Jexcar Sustainability Rentals?
Since March 2025, our solar-powered trailers have been running entirely off clean energy — with no need to plug into the grid. The trailers have successfully powered TVs, HVAC systems, and hot water heaters, automatically adjusting to weather conditions to deliver comfort and efficiency on set. It is a great example of how sustainable solutions can meet the real-world demands of the film industry while helping reduce its environmental footprint.
